Amazon Christmas shipping deadlines 2026
Amazon has not published a list of Christmas order-by dates since 2019, so any 2026 “deadline” you read for it is an estimate. What it shows instead is an “Arrives before Christmas” label on eligible items — from 9 December in 2025.

What Amazon publishes instead
Amazon’s last full list came on 11 December 2019: 14 December for free shipping on orders over $25, 18 and 22 December for Prime’s free shipping, 23 December for One-Day and 24 December for Same-Day. In 2020 and 2021 it named only the last two. Its holiday delivery announcements since 2023 have given no dates at all.
A label took their place. For 2025 Amazon said that from 9 December search results and product pages would mark items “Arrives before Christmas”, and that Same-Day Delivery would run through Christmas Eve in more than 9,000 US cities and towns, with slots that can sell out early in the day.
A label worked out for each item and each address is more use than one date. The same order can be on time in one ZIP code and late in another, and even the 2019 list warned that not every speed is available for every product in every area.
Where the dates in other articles come from
Articles every December still give Amazon deadlines for free and two-day shipping, but Amazon has not published those since 2019. They are estimates carried over from the years it did. They can be close for items Amazon ships itself, and they say nothing about an item from a seller who ships their own stock.
How to be sure a present arrives in time
Read the delivery date at checkout with your own address entered. It is the only deadline that applies to that item, and it already accounts for the seller, the warehouse and the speed you chose.
Check who ships it. An item that ships from Amazon runs on Amazon’s timetable; one that ships from a third-party seller runs on the seller’s, which in December is often slower.
If the date has passed, an Amazon eGift Card still arrives: it is sent by email, and in 2021 Amazon listed 25 December itself as a day to buy one online.
Every order-by date Amazon has published
The last day to order for delivery by Christmas in the US, as Amazon announced it. A service with no row in a year had no date from Amazon; 2022 is missing because we found no Amazon announcement for it.
